On the north-eastern shore of the island of São Tomé stands the country's capital. Here, small streets are filled with markets and the people of São Tomé. The main streets are built among trees and offer a welcome shade that protects us from the African sun.

Founded in 1535, São Tomé is a city full of history that still has some 16th century buildings left, such as the Fort of Saint Sebastian, nowadays a national museum.
