The country's largest and most important coffee and cocoa operation

Built in 1865, this farm was the headquarters of Agricultural Society Valle Flôr: the country's largest and most important coffee and cocoa operation. An important fact: back in 19th century, São Tomé was the world's leading producer of cocoa!

In the colonial period, the railway system of the archipelago was operated from here, where more than 3 thousand persons have worked.

A HISTORY LESSON

This farm is located 10 km away from the capital São Tomé. Despite appearing to be abandoned, it is still an important landmark to visit. You will see a main street with a hospital at the top of the hill. In the past, this infrastructure has about 180 beds.

Stay for a while, travel back in time and talk with the locals. At the end, you will have some good stories to share with those who stayed at home.
