Creativity has no limits in this fashion event, which presents the best national designers to Portugal and the world.
It all started in 1991. The duo Eduarda Abbondanza and Mário Matos Ribeiro wanted to show the best of Portuguese fashion and, therefore, organized this event, at the invitation of the Lisbon City Council.
Years later, more concretely in December 1996, the ModaLisboa Association was created, leading to some changes in the structure of the event.
The fashion shows remain, but new opportunities have emerged in other areas, always linked to this industry. Currently, ModaLisboa presents, in March and October of each year, several Portuguese collections in order to spread the national fashion to other countries.
This event, of the ModaLisboa Association, is the most prestigious in Portugal and receives about 20 thousand people to attend the fashion shows of the national designers.
In addition, the organization has also decided to develop "Novo Sangue", a contest for young designers, the "Wonder Room", dedicated to new business and entrepreneurship linked to fashion, and the "Fast Talks" conferences, where big themes linked to national and international industry are debated.
