It is one of the Lusaka’s popular attractions, where you can find different pieces of handicraft production and many artists from Zambia.

Visiting this village you can get an idea of how life was like in colonial times. For that reason, this is one of the great tourist attractions in Zambia.

In the twentieth century, during the 1950s and 1960s, the town was under British rule and saw its independence in 1964. The cultural village was founded in 1974 and became the home of the Cultural and Visual Arts Association of Kabwata - KAVICA.

Its main objectives are to preserve the history and culture of Zambia. For this, several artisans were invited to be part of this village and to produce their traditional artifacts.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

The Kabwata Cultural Village is open every day from 08:00 to 18:00 and is located along Burma Road in the Kabwata Estates in Lusaka.
