In Menongue, the typical Angolan funge has a different flavour.
Pirão de Milho, a type of corn flour, is a typical Kuando Kubango staple food, a local version of the traditional Angolan funge: a flour that, when cooked, becomes a sort of paste served with chicken meat. The difference lies in the main ingredient, corn, while in the rest of the country funge is made from cassava.
We recommend using the local hotels’ restaurants to enjoy this dish.
