TAAG - AIAAN Operations

SOYO, DUNDO, SAURIMO AND LUENA ROUTES OPERATED EXCLUSIVELY AT AIAAN FROM DECEMBER 10

Luanda, November 23, 2024: Pursuant to Executive Decree, and continuing the process of gradually transferring commercial passenger operations from Luanda's 4 de Fevereiro International Airport to the New Airport, Dr. António Agostinho Neto Airport (AIAAN), located in Bom Jesus, Icolo and Bengo, TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola will carry out phase II of the transition. This phase includes the Eastern Provinces, namely Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, and Moxico, as well as the Province of Zaire, whose connection with Luanda will be made exclusively via AIAAN, as of Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

The incorporation of the destinations of Dundo, Saurimo, Luena, and Soyo into the flight schedule from Dr. António Agostinho Neto Airport during December is in line with the phased transfer plan and consistent with the service levels of the other entities in the ecosystem that contribute to mobility and services related to the airport.

Summary of destinations to be added to the flight schedule via AIAAN from December 10, 2024:

  • Soyo (Zaire): 5 weekly frequencies, departing from Luanda on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with the inaugural flight from AIAAN on December 10, 2024.
  • Dundo (Lunda Norte): 4 weekly flights from Luanda on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with the inaugural flight from AIAAN on December 12, 2024.
  • Saurimo (Lunda Sul): 7 weekly flights, departing daily from Luanda, with the inaugural flight from AIAAN on December 10, 2024.
  • Luena (Moxico): 3 weekly flights from Luanda on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with the inaugural flight from AIAAN on December 11, 2024.

The services will be operated by a Dash 8-Q400 aircraft, with capacity for 74 passengers (64 in economy class and 10 in business class). At the same time, TAAG has a comprehensive multi-channel communication plan in place to keep its customers, passengers, and other stakeholders properly informed about the transfer process. Dr. António Agostinho Neto Airport brings more efficiency and convenience to all users, projecting Luanda as a regional hub.
