TAAG Angolan Airlines will add Boeing's popular 787 Dreamliner to its fleet, marking the airline's first acquisition of the aircraft. The inaugural aircraft delivery is due in August 2024.
Luanda, October 10, 2023, : Following the implementation of its Business Plan and fleet modernization, TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola placed an order for four new Boeing 787 Dreamliner airplanes to serve the company's continental and intercontinental routes starting in the 3rd quarter of 2024. These new planes are consistent with TAAG's ongoing "Customer Journey" initiative, which aims to enhance the product, comfort, and service, providing an unparalleled experience for TAAG passengers.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is distinguished by its exceptional comfort level, state-of-the-art technology, and appealing interior design. From an operational perspective, this aircraft is highly efficient in fuel economy and environmental sustainability, boasting a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to its preceding generation.
It is important to note that the negotiations between TAAG's Board of Directors and the manufacturer were extensive, emphasizing securing optimal conditions for the company. As a result, the aircraft is now integrated into the innovative "sale-and-leaseback" scheme.
